5 steps to understanding Chinese language
During this course, I will introduce you to 5 key elements of the Chinese language which will help you to understand how Mandarin works and how to make learning it way easier.
Chinese is often referred to as the most difficult language in the world. However, my goal is to demystify the Chinese language and show that, with the right and systematic approach, learning Chinese is a pleasure. You will delve into the depths of the language, learn how to write characters, master phonetics and enrich your vocabulary with many new words.
1. During our first class I will introduce you to Chinese phonetics and tones. We will learn how to read Chinese characters with the usage of Pinyin (the foremost Romanization system for Standard Mandarin Chinese).
2. For our second class we will learn what Chinese characters are and what they consist of. I will introduce you to the basics of calligraphy and the basic rules of handwriting. We will get aquatinted with useful websites and services to learn characters.
3. In our second lesson we will put attention to learning new phrases and expanding our vocabulary. We will finalize learning numbers and how Chinese people count.
4. During this session our focus will be on more complex useful phrases that can be used in day-to-day life. We will also do some listening to get better at acknowledging the tones and tempo of Chinese.
5. Our final class will check what you already know and structure your knowledge. I will give recommendations on how to progress faster and share with each student personalized advice on how to reach your goal.
