Online Japanese lessons for beginners (A1)

As a previous teacher at University of Oslo, I have 2 years teaching experience in Japanese A1.

I offer Japanese lessons for any type of adult beginners for A1 level. PowerPoint will be presented on each class. The textbook we will use is: Marugoto: Japanese language and culture. Starter A1 Katsudoo: Coursebook for communicative language activities. The classes will be conducted online via Zoom.

I will show my students a clear course plan before the course start. So you can get a general idea about the course, and also prepare yourself. In the first classes we will learn hiragana, katakana and basic greetings. Furthermore, we will also learn basic grammar structure, basic vocabulary and kanji.

As important as the course, homework are essential. I will give a homework after each class is over. I always make sure I have plenty of time on viewing your homework, and analyze each one's flaws and strength.

After 20 classes, the students will be able to read and write Hiragana, Katakana, approx. 50 Chinese characters (kanji), and approx. 300 words and expressions. The students will be able to hold very basic conversations and read and write fairly easy-to-understand texts in Japanese.

In my course, I will apply the Japanese learning method I learned in University of Oslo, and guide my students through the study process.

As a one who majored in Japanese for 6 years, and studied at Waseda University in Tokyo, I am confident to guide you on the way to Japanese learning!
