About me
Born in 1998 in Santiago de Compostela, Galicia, Spain, I am Santiago Velo Quintairos. I earned my bachelor's degrees in music and pedagogy in Salamanca, Spain, and further pursued a master's degree at Codarts in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, under the mentorship of Karin Dolman. Currently residing in Rotterdam, I am dedicated to honing my skills in arts and education.
Thanks to Codarts, I am passionately delving into the sonic possibilities of the viola d'amore. My musical aspiration revolves around crafting a distinctive voice on the viola and pushing the boundaries of the instrument's tradition. Additionally, I am one half of "duo pole," a guitar/viola duo.

With nearly two decades of experience playing the viola, I have transitioned into freelancing, aspiring to cultivate my skills not only as a performer—with a keen emphasis on contemporary music—but also as an adept teacher and pedagogue.
