About me

My name is Maja and I come from Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. As a child I lived in France for a while and absorbed French as a native speaker.

Later on, when deciding on what to study I chose to study French. I polished my skills, learned proper grammar, dived in wonderful world of French literature and became professor of French Language and Literature.

I have been teaching since 2007 and my first job was teaching adults in evening courses. From there I moved to public high school to end in beautiful Montessori environment where I stayed for 12 years. I am very passionate about Montessori and teaching French using Montessori materials, so I developed learning materials that make learning grammar and vocabulary more fun and interesting.

For the last past 6 years I have worked on Cambridge programs preparing students successfully for the exams.

I believe that after finishing school everybody should be able to have at least basic everyday conversations in targeted language, therefore I do not only focus on one aspect, I am always trying to put the language in the context, learn through situations, offer vocabulary through sentences instead of isolated words. Foreign language should be functional and have a purpose in our future life, it should not only be one subject in school that we need to pass and forget later.

In January I moved with my family to Amsterdam, and I am loving every aspect of it.

I am very passionate about crochet and have been crocheting for past 10 years. Last year I have started my own small business where I sell lot of beautiful crochet items, but I am also giving crocheting lessons.
